Can't make it to Elton John next year? Check out Shaun Preston at the Hawera High reunion

In 1919, the War to end all Wars had just ended, the United States was banning booze and Hawera High School opened its doors for the first time with 180 students - five times more than had attended the local technical school two years earlier. During the next century, Hawera High educated thousands of young minds, caned a few behinds, had students digging a hole for the school swimming pool and shooting guns in the schoolyards!  Happy memories.

Join us 100 years on for Hawera High reunion, when the Hawera High School Centennial 2019 celebrates 10 decades of learning, laughter and shared lives.
